[edit] Information

How do you prepare for a ride through nowhere? Miles and miles of it. Alone on his trusty KTM, Henry Cole is going to have plenty of thinking time as he attempts to travel from one of the world's most isolated cities, Perth, on Australia's far west coast, across vast swathes of nothing to the tropical climes of Darwin in the north. Miles of great empty red desert will surround him en route and, whilst the mileage is high, the soaring temperatures will be higher as well as relentless and merciless. This is endurance riding at it most intense. Even seeking out company after riding through the wilderness from miles can be harder than you'd imagine, as Henry discovers when he visits Binnu - population 6. To help break the monotony, Henry volunteers as a ranger at the Purlulu National Park, admiring the amazing solitude of the area up close. The endless seclusion and isolation can play tricks on any rider's mind during long stretches in the saddle but the breath-taking scenery and crazy characters popping up along the road could still make it a World's Greatest Motorcycle Ride. Henry just has to survive being baked alive in his leathers to tell the tale. Chapter 1: Perth to Mellawa Farmstead Henry arrives in the vibrant city of Perth in Western Australia to embark on his longest route to date, riding over 5000Km from Perth to Darwin. Chapter 2: Mellawa to Coral Bay Henry continues his colossal Australian ride of some 5000Km from Perth in the south-west to Darwin in the north. Chapter 3: Coral Bay to Broome Nearly 2500Km into his ride, Henry rolls into the Coral Bay area, halfway up the west coast - and finds the beach resort of Ningaloo reef. Chapter 4: Broome to Halls Creek Henry is now 3000Km into his ride from Perth in the south-west of Australia to journey's end in Darwin. Chapter 5: Halls Creek to Darwin Henry is only about 1500Km from Darwin. After three days on the road he arrives in one of Australia's natural wonders - the Kakadu National Park.
