[edit] Information

Britain is criss-crossed by a network of ancient trackways that have been travelled for over 5000 years. Tony Robinson returns for a new series to explore more of these remarkable routes and the mysteries and legends that surround them.

[edit] Dartmoor

Tony walks across Dartmoor in the footsteps of Britain's greatest detective, plunges the depths of a reputedly bottomless lake and comes face to face with a four-legged beast.

[edit] Offa's Dyke

Tony walks Offa's Dyke in the footsteps of William Wordsworth, explores what some believe could have been the subterranean resting place of King Arthur, encounters Wales's fearsome dragon and ponders the priceless gold coin issued by King Offa.

[edit] The Portway

In the Peak District Tony uncovers a prehistoric shark tooth, shines a light in an abandoned railway tunnel and discovers DH Lawrence's mountain retreat.

[edit] Dere Street

Tony follows the Roman road of Dere Street north through Hadrian's Wall, contemplates the ancient night sky, braves the roar of a Celtic horn, mixes medieval potions and encounters ancient invaders.
