Examines how John Hume cultivated the support of a succession of US presidents to harness international support to forge peace. Featuring compelling archive footage from the conflict in Northern Ireland and interviews with a number of former American presidents, including Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter, with President Clinton referring to Nobel Peace Prize winner Hume as 'the Irish conflict's Martin Luther King'.
