This, the first program to profile Jan Vermeer, investigates the life and art of this elusive figure. Jan Vermeer was living very privately in the dutch city of Delft. Some of his most famous paintings are "The milkmaid", "View on Delft", "The guitar player" and "The girl with the perl" are icons and classical examples of his excellent handling of light.
