[edit] Information

Space Trek is an informative, historical packed program regarding the past, present and future of space exploration. Gliding seamlessly from Hershel's telescope (that discovered Uranus in 1781) through to modem probes to the outer planets.

This is a historical and future focused program, future science and space exploration is stretched to its limits with a speculative ‘space ark’ (a hollowed out asteroid that could take generations of families to a nearby star) being proposed. This would give the possibility of a human mission to the distant red planet of Mars some day.

The program links Mir and future space stations with experiments in self-supporting life-processes that is already underway. For some scientists, the ultimate goal is to slowly turn red Mars into green mars; to slowly "terraform" Mars and make it habitable for humans.
